Brown County West Central Mass Transit
The Brown County branch of the West Central Mass Transit District was established in Mt. Sterling in May of 2007. We are dedicated to providing safe, dependable, transportation to the residents and visitors of Brown County Illinois.
Hours of operation are from 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM.
We are located at 206 SW Cross in Mt. Sterling, Il which is the Two Rivers Building.
We currently have 5 vehicles, 2 of which are 7 passenger minivans and 3 14 passenger buses. All are accessible.
The WCMTD provides transportation in Brown County and it's surrounding areas including but not limited to Quincy, Pittsfield, Macomb, Jacksonville & Springfield. (Please see our Morgan.Scott County page for days and times we go to Springfield.)

Student Pass Group Rate Guidelines:
- To qualify for the group rate there must be 3 or more students.
- The group rate passes can be used for transportation to and from school/YMCA only. All other rides are charged at regular fare price
- All students must be returned to the same location
- All passes must be purchased at the same time by one person or organization
The WCMTD provides a shuttle for DOT Foods employees who live in the Quincy area. Call our office at 217-773-3025 during business hours, Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM, for more information regarding schedules and fares.
If you are not on the bus by the specified times we will not return to get you.
You are responsible for making your own arrangements.
Do Not expect your co-workers to pass on messages.
The Seniors in Brown County can enjoy the freedom of getting out in the community without the hassle of driving especially in inclement weather! Our buses are always warm in the winter and cool in the summer and if some assistance is needed to get to the vehicle our drivers are happy to help. We also allow one personal assistant to ride free to assist you with your needs.

With a senior card, which you can get at the Senior Center in Mt. Sterling or Versailles you don't have to hassle with worrying about having money with you to ride.
You must be at least 60 years of age to get a senior card.

No smoking is allowed within 15 feet of a WCMTD vehicle.
No open drink or food containers can be brought onto the bus.
No eating or drinking on the bus.
Seat belts must be fastened at all times!
