Pike County Public Transportation
A Division of the West Central Mass Transit District
West Central Mass Transit District/Pike County Public Transportation started providing transportation in January, 2011. Since its inception the system has traveled over 250,000 miles while providing more than 30,000 one way rides to individuals throughout Pike County.
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 6:00pm. We are located in the 4th building back from the highway in what were formerly known as the JDL buildings just North of Pittsfield. We have nine vehicles, eight of which are handicapped accessible with either ramps or wheelchair lifts depending on the size of the vehicle.
Our system is capable of transporting individuals throughout Pike County. In addition we also provide transportation to Springfield, Quincy, Jacksonville and other pre-approved destinations when we have the availability.
WCMTD can provide transportation for many reasons such as work, medical, recreational, educational or social events. We also currently have a route that takes individuals to and from work at Cargill in Beardstown Monday through Friday.
